The "Classic" is the same superlight, multi-format Six:12 camera, but in a unique wood finish.
The Six:12 is a compact, lightweight, medium format camera with dedicated interchangeable lens cones to allow for a range of focal lengths to be used by the photographer.
All Six:12 cameras come with one lens cone/helicoid (where required) as standard. The following lens cone options are currently available, with more being added regularly. If there is a specific lens you wish to use, and it’s not listed, get in touch and a custom cone can be designed, so long as the rear element is smaller than 60mm diameter, and the shutter size is smaller than 54mm;
All lens cones are secured using 8 very strong neodymium magnets, and can be removed by pushing the left side of the cone from the inside of the body to release the magnets.
Film loading/unloading is simple, thanks to the fully removable rear body, secured with a threaded tripod mount on the base.
Both the take up and rewind knobs are machined aluminium, with an integrated ratchet inside the take up spool to prevent the film rewinding or losing tension between frames.
The rear of the camera body has multiple sliding windows, used to quickly and easily wind on to the next frame. The full manual winding means that double/multiple exposures are possible, along with smooth winding on.
Standard frame format is 6×12, but all cameras come with drop in baffles, which can be fitted before loading the film, to reduce the frame size to 6×9 or 6×6. The frame numbers used for each format are;
6×12 – Middle Right Window, no baffles – 1,3,5,7,9,11 (6 frames total)
The basic Six:12 camera weighs only 325g, without lens/cone, making it a very compact system that you can comfortably carry in a small bag or attached via a camera strap.
As well as a standard 1/4″ tripod thread built in to the body of the camera, there are also a pair of cold shoes integrated into the matte black top plate, and a centrally mounted bubble level for aiding composition. Accessory viewfinders/rangefinders can be used in the cold shoes to help with framing/focus.
38mm deep (60mm deep at the grip)
118mm high, including the winding knobs.
317g without a lens.
