Complete 6x17 rollfilm setup, to be used with any Graflok-compatible 4x5 camera. Like all 6x17 Graflok systems, the film plane is moved backwards from the standard position by 45mm to allow for the full 17cm wide image to be projected through the opening in the rear of the 4x5 camera, this will increase the minimum focal length of your 4x5 camera by the same distance.

For example, if your 4x5 camera can mount a 90mm lens at its’ widest position this will increase to a 135mm lens approximately (90+45 = 135).

Setup includes

Complete 6x17 rollfilm system for all 4x5 large format cameras with Graflok compatibility.

  • Graflok plate to mount to 4x5 camera
  • 6x17 rollfilm back (also available as 6x12 or 6x14 with clip on ground glass mask)
  • 6x17 Slot in Ground glass (Fresnel can be purchased separately from Burley Cameras HERE if required)

 This excellent video by Lee Pengelly shows how to use the 6x17 Graflok setup on any 4x5 large format camera with Graflok compatibility;

The Graflok setup is available in two different configurations, depending on which side you load sheet film holders from on your 4x5 camera when in landscape orientation.

LOAD FROM LEFT - This configuration is required if you load your film holders from the left, when viewed from the back of the camera. In portrait orientation this configuration positions the winding knobs on the right hand side.

LOAD FROM RIGHT - This configuration is required if you load your film holders from the right, when viewed from the back of the camera. In portrait orientation this configuration positions the winding knobs on the left hand side.

If you have a standard field/monorail camera which has a back that can be rotated both left and right, both configurations will work correctly, you can simply choose according to your winding knob position when in portrait orientation.

Both configurations use the same 6x17 rollfilm back/ground glass, and are compatible with the 6x12 and 6x14 additional film backs available. Like with all of my other “Six:” cameras, the new film roll is inserted in the left side of the film back and wound on to the empty spool on the right side, as demonstrated here;

There are no coldshoes on the top plate of the Graflok setup film back as any accessories mounted on them would be entirely blocked by the 4x5 camera it is mounted to.
