The Six:17 is a unique medium format (6x17) camera system, with the flexibility of direct ground glass focusing capability and zone focus handheld photography in one compact, lightweight, system. Using dedicated, interchangeable lens cones allows for a range of focal lengths to be used by the photographer.

The Six:17 has a fully removable film back, with integrated darkslide, making it the only handheld 6x17 camera that you can directly focus/compose each frame on the roll, giving complete control over each panoramic frame.

The main camera body has an embedded bubble level in the top centre, to aid composition when focusing on the ground glass, the level is also visible when the film back is fitted to provide the same composition aid when using the camera with zone focusing.

An accessory fresnel is available separately, which increases the brightness of the standard ground glass.

All Six:17 cameras come with one lens cone/helicoid as standard. If there is a specific lens you wish to use, and it's not listed, get in touch and a custom cone can be designed, so long as the rear element is smaller than 72mm diameter, and the shutter size is smaller than 45mm.

All lens cones are secured using a combination of an integrated retaining tab that slots beneath the grip and a sliding lock on the main body. This dual securing method makes the cone extremely rigid when mounted, ensuring consistent sharpness across the frame and safety for your lens.

Film loading/unloading is simple, thanks to the removable rear door, and traditional sprung take up/rewind knobs. Both the take up and rewind knobs on the top plate are machined aluminium.

The rear of the film back has an off-centre red window, below a removable physical cover, used to quickly and easily wind on to the next frame. You can also remove the physical cover and insert the tab from the box for the film you have loaded, giving you a physical reminder of what you have loaded.

The full manual winding means that double/multiple exposures are possible. The following frame numbers are used;

 6x17 - 2,5,8,11 (4 frames)

 The Six:17 camera weighs only 412g, without lens/cone, making it a very compact system that you can comfortably carry in a bag, or attached via a tripod-mounted camera strap. The tripod thread is a standard 1/4" diameter, compatible with most standard tripods/accessories.

As well as the standard 1/4" tripod thread built in to the base of the camera, there are also three stainless steel sprung coldshoes on the top plate. Accessory viewfinders/rangefinders can be used in the coldshoes to help with framing/focus (not included).
